Preparing your fleet for multi-city expansion

How Uber and Bolt fleet companies add a new city without duplicating drivers, vehicles, documents or commission rules.

Do not clone the whole company file

The usual mistake is a new spreadsheet (or a new MasterFlota-shaped mess) per city. Drivers move, vehicles transfer, and accountants then reconcile two worlds.

A multi-city fleet should be one account with city as a field on people, vehicles and reports — not a second product instance.

What must stay shared vs local

MasterFlota supports multiple cities and companies under one login so expansion does not mean a second onboarding project.

  • Shared: driver identity, documents, mobile app, chart of roles
  • Local: city assignment, some commission variants, local managers
  • Shared or split: legal entity, depending on how you invoice

Launch checklist for a new city

Assign a city manager with the right role, import only the people who will work there, and confirm document reminders still fire. Run one week of reporting in parallel with the original city so totals still add up.
